Recital: Sam Margolis '22, Jazz Trombone
NEC's students meet one-on-one each week with a faculty artist to perfect their craft. As each one leaves NEC to make their mark in the performance world, they present a full, professional recital that is free and open to the public. It's your first look at the artists of tomorrow.
Sam Margolis '22 studies Jazz Trombone and has worked with Jason Moran, Nasheet Waits, Frank Carlberg, and Miguel Zenón. He is the recipient of the Beneficent Society Scholarship.
This performance is open to in-person audiences, and can also be viewed via livestream.

Alex Yoo, drumsThank you to my studio teachers:
Frank Carlberg, Jason Moran, Miguel Zenón, Jason Palmer, John McNeil,
and Jim Markey, as well as my ensemble directors: Ted Reichman, Anthony Coleman,
Joe Morris, Henrique Eisenmann and Nedelka Prescod
for helping me grow into the artist and person I am today.
Thank you to the musicians who played on my recital.
I really, really could not have done this without each and every one of you.
Thank you to my friends for always inspiring, pushing and believing in me.
You are the reason I will look back on my college experience with fondness
and I cannot wait to see how you will all impact the future.
Thank you to the production team for helping me put on my first gig as a leader
and broadcasting the event to those who could not be here today.
Thank you to my family for traveling to be here today,
for all the love and continuous support.
I love you all so much.
And last, but certainly first, thank you to my mother Elise and father Kenny.
My #1 supports and my biggest inspiration.
Two of the most talented and good hearted people I know.
I don’t know what I did to deserve such supportive, loving and cool parents.
I am forever grateful for each of you.
