Due to NEC's response to COVID-19, the physical space of New England Conservatory's Registrar's Office will not be open for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately we will not have the capacity to issue paper transcripts. Transcripts for records created between Spring 1989 and Spring 2020 may be issued electronically; we recommend that you utilize this format if at all possible. If a paper copy is required please notify the recipient that significant delays will occur.
A transcript is an official copy of the student's academic record showing credit hours and grades of work completed in the college department of New England Conservatory (NEC). NEC can not issue transcripts of work completed at any other school or institution.
Transcript requests normally take two to three days for processing except during peak times of high volume or holiday breaks. Processing time does not reflect delivery time.
Please read the following information carefully before requesting transcripts.
NEC students and alumni receive their first-ever transcript free. Additional transcripts are currently $10.00 each.
All requests for transcripts require payment in advance. We accept personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks and cash. All checks and money orders must be payable in U.S. dollars and drawn on U.S. banks. Credit cards are accepted only when students are ordering transcripts via the online method outlined below.
Students and alumni must be financially clear with the institution, as well as not in default on any educational loans.
Transcripts being sent by our office to the NEC Office of Admission or to NEC's Music-in-Education Office are always free.
NEC faculty and staff receive transcripts free of charge while they are gainfully employed by NEC.
