The Blumenthal Family Library

The Blumenthal Family Library, including the NEC Archives and Special Collections, holds one of the major music collections in the United States, and provides access, instruction and support to enhance NEC’s teaching, learning, and research.

The collection, which holds more than 150,000 volumes of scores, recordings, and books, also includes subscriptions to music journals and electronic databases and a wealth of manuscripts, first editions, personal papers, and performance recordings by NEC’s renowned composers and musicians.

Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Friday, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Library Highlights

  • Library exhibit: Before the World Knew Them

    Check out the Archives’ latest exhibit, “Before the World Knew Them,” featuring archival scans of Coretta Scott King’s time at NEC as a student and her enduring legacy. It is now on display in the Schuller Gallery.
