NEC’s 150th Commencement Ceremony

Carl J. Atkins, Emanuel Ax, Deborah Borda, Wu Man, and Mavis Staples will be receiving honorary degrees, and Mavis Staples will give a virtual commencement address. Read more
The ceremony will take place in historic Jordan Hall and will be live streamed. In person attendance will be limited to graduating students only; parents, family members, and loved ones will be invited to watch and celebrate via live stream. The ceremony will have a 2-hour duration, including a brief break.
The first half of the ceremony will include remarks from leadership and alumni, student speakers, awards, and Honorary Doctorates; after the break, we will confer degrees and diplomas to students.
Virtual Reception
Please join us for a virtual reception on Saturday evening, May 22 at 7:00 PM (EST) to celebrate our graduating students. The reception will be held on Shindig, an interactive platform that allows you to chat with individuals and in small groups. There will be a slide show featuring over 200 of our 2020 and 2021 graduates, sharing memories of their time at NEC.
