About the Krasner Vuilliaume

This year's loan of the Krasner Family Vuilliaume violin has been granted to Minami Yoshida. Minami’s quartet, the Nico String Quartet, was one of five ensembles selected through an audition process to participate in the NEC Honors Chamber Music Program. The Nico String Quartet, has the title of Honor's “Krasner Ensemble”, will perform a full recital in Jordan Hall on April 29, 2019 and will present community engagement concerts throughout the semester. At each performance the group will speak to their audience about the history and special background of the Krasner Vuilliaume violin, especially the connection through the esteemed former faculty member, Louis Krasner and his contribution to the chamber music culture and community at NEC.
