Internationally acclaimed violinist Alex Greffin Klein will present a two-part masterclass on contemporary violin. In the first part, she will discuss performance practices and notations for extended techniques, with special reference to percussive techniques. In the second part, she will lead a masterclass on the first two movements of Sciarrino's iconic Six Caprices performance by NEC's In Mo Yang (Artist Diploma, studio of Miriam Fried).

 

As part of a short residency at NEC, Ms. Greffin Klein will also be performing a program of contemporary works by women composers of various generations and origins on Thu, October 11 at 8pm in the Plimpton Shattuck Black Box Theatre.
