Faculty Recital: Paul Biss, violin and viola

Violinist and violist Paul Biss joins family and rising young artists in a faculty recital of beloved works.

In Paul's words:

“This concert is particularly meaningful to me because it is a program of works I love dearly and I am playing with family and wonderful young artists with whom I am thrilled to be performing.

 My son Jonathan and I begin the concert with a Schubert sonata. I played it with him when he was 12 years old and it was the first piece we ever performed together in public. The Dvořák Terzetto is brilliantly written for an unusual combination of instruments—two violins and viola. It is so sonorous that it is almost hard to believe only three instruments are playing. The Brahms piano quartet is a truly great masterpiece and one feels privileged to play it.”
