Fulbright Awards to Finland and Sweden
The U.S. Department of State has named NEC a top producing institution for Fulbright U.S. students. Recent graduates Mona Sangesland and Elise Kolle are pursuing Fulbright studies in Finland and Sweden.
New England Conservatory is proud to be included on the list of U.S. colleges and universities that produced the most 2018-2019 Fulbright U.S. Students.
Each year the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces the top producing institutions for the Fulbright Program, the U.S. government's flagship international educational exchange program. The Chronicle of Higher Education publishes the lists annually.
- Flutist Mona Sangesland ’17 MM, ’18 GD is in Finland pursuing studies at Sibelius Academy and the University of Helsinki, focusing on understanding and overcoming musicians’ injuries.
- Harpist Elise Kolle ’18 is in Sweden studying historical harps at the Nydahl Collection, a museum housing over 500 musical instruments from around Europe.
