Trio Conventi: NEC Honors Ensemble
Each year, an audition committee of professional musicians and faculty selects a few exceptional student ensembles to represent the NEC Honors Ensemble Program. The ensembles work with a faculty coach and are given an opportunity to perform a spring recital in NEC's Jordan Hall.
The members of tonight's Honors Ensemble, Trio Conventi, are Yun Janice Lu, piano; Yiliang Jiang, violin; and Jeffrey Ho, cello. Their coach is Vivian Hornik Weilerstein.
Trio Conventi is composed of its three members; Yiliang Jiang (violin), Jeffrey Ho (cello), and Yun Janice Lu (piano). The three musicians first crossed paths during the summer of 2019 at Yellowbarn, shortly after the pandemic outbreak. Since then, they have been performing and working with esteemed musicians such as Vivian Hornik Weilerstein, Guy Fishman, Kim Kashkashian, and Don Weilerstein at NEC. Trio Conventi was selected to participate in the NEC Honor's Ensemble program for 2022-2023 under the direction of Merry Peckham.
