Recital: Zhanbo Zheng '22 MM, Viola
NEC's students meet one-on-one each week with a faculty artist to perfect their craft. As each one leaves NEC to make their mark in the performance world, they present a full, professional recital that is free and open to the public. It's your first look at the artists of tomorrow.
Zhanbo Zheng '22 MM studies Viola with Kim Kashkashian and Miriam Fried and is the recipient of a scholarship made possible by the Francis W. Hatch, Sr. Presidential Scholarship Fund.
This performance is open to in-person audiences, and can also be viewed via livestream

Vivace ma non troppo
Adagio
Allegro molto moderatoI would like to say thank you,
to my friends, colleagues, and studio mates,
for your endless support, inspiration, and jokes;
to my family,
for your unconditional care
that always comes in time despite the distance;
to my musical partner, Tae,
for your insights, inputs, and invincible passion for our work and music;
to my teacher, Dominique,
for introducing me to those musical adventures that were so pleasing, fresh, and constructive;
to my teacher, Miriam,
for reassuring me about my beliefs in music and in being a musician through the philosophies you have shared with me besides all of your doings;
lastly, to my teacher, Kim,
for the knowledge of the viola, music, and life,
for making me be able to hear what I can now hear and feel what I can now feel,
for always being there for me, and for making me feel whole.
