Recital: Yi-Mei Templeman '22, Cello
NEC's students meet one-on-one each week with a faculty artist to perfect their craft. As each one leaves NEC to make their mark in the performance world, they present a full, professional recital that is free and open to the public. It's your first look at the artists of tomorrow.

Andrea Casarrubios | Seven
My intention with this work was to create an experience in which two opposites coexist: solitude and resilience during isolation, and a sense of community and solidarity. The piece ends with seven bell-like sounds, alluding to New York’s daily 7 PM tribute during the lockdown - the moment when New Yorkers clapped from their windows, connecting with each other and expressing appreciation for those on the front lines.”

Thank you so much to my wonderful friends and mentors here at NEC who have made the past four years so warm, memorable, and transformative.
Thank you especially to Thomas, and Trés, and, of course, to Trio Gaia for being a part of this recital and for inspiring me with your musicianship and friendship every single day.
Thank you to the formidable Lluis Claret, for changing my perspective on cello-playing and for teaching me all that I know.
Thank you to my family for the endless love and support, and for traveling across the country to be here tonight.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came out to be here with me this evening. I am so grateful for each and every one of you.
