Recital: George Li '21 AD, Piano
The Artist Diploma (AD) program is NEC's highest performance program, offering a handful of especially gifted performers the opportunity to deepen and challenge their artistry, broaden their musical perspective, and explore areas of personal and professional growth. AD recitals allow audiences to observe multiple facets of emerging artists.

It has been a trying and difficult period for everyone during this pandemic, yet the need for music has been greater than ever before - although live music can never be replaced, virtual concerts have provided a much needed respite and break from the chaos rippling around us. I want to thank NEC for providing such a safe environment for all of us to continue to pursue our musical learning and nourishment during such uncertain times. Finally, I’d like to thank my teacher Ms. Byun for going above and beyond to maintain normalcy in the form of lessons despite such challenges, especially in the form of the virtual world of Zoom and Violy. She maintains a supreme standard for all of us, and even in the face of such obstacles, she is constantly able to reach out beyond the screens of iPads, iPhones and laptops to inspire us to listen and create music.
