Postmodern Miniatures: NEC Wildcard Honors Ensemble
Each year, an audition committee of professional musicians and faculty selects a few exceptional student ensembles to represent the NEC Honors Ensemble Program. The ensembles work with a faculty coach and are given an opportunity to perform a spring recital in NEC's Jordan Hall.
Postmodern Miniatures was founded in 2019 as a passion project between three close friends and collaborators. Each member coming from a straight-ahead jazz background and developing a deep interest in the avant-garde, the trio gradually shifted its focus from primarily playing jazz standards to a diverse array of repertoire ranging from creative music and contemporary classical repertoire to interdisciplinary works.
This concert will be in-person and also livestreamed.
