NEC Perspectives Forum

The NEC Perspectives Forum provides an opportunity for the NEC community to explore how we all can make a better NEC and positive impact on our field and society. By listening to the experiences and perspectives of our students, alumni, faculty and staff, we will explore ideas to help us discern what is possible today.

Our speakers will come with ideas and challenges to fuel the fire of our community on how NEC can live into its commitment of Cultural Equity and Belonging. We all come to this forum to ignite action that heals our community, build trust, and creates a more hopeful future for our current and prospective students.

We also encourage you to share your perspectives by writing to us at belonging@necmusic.edu and discuss your ideas and experiences with the Special Advisor to the President, Stanford Thompson ‘10 by signing up for a confidential meeting here.

Please join us on Tuesday, July 14th at 8pm ET for a conversation with the Revolutionary Students Alliance (RSA) to learn more about their June 26th Open Letter to NEC and the truth, reconciliation, and immediate radical institutional reform they are passionately advocating for. Joining the RSA will be Stanford Thompson to address their open letter and related questions from participants.

Future sessions are being confirmed and can be proposed by any member of the NEC community.
