NEC Jazz Orchestra presents Bud Powell in the 21st Century
Bud Powell in the 21st Century is a suite of music composed and arranged by NEC faculty member, Ethan Iverson, who will perform at the piano with the NEC Jazz Orchestra.
The suite was premiered at Umbria Jazz in December, 2018. This performance will be the first in the United States, alternating between arrangements for the full NEC Jazz Orchestra and a quintet, recreating Powell's historic 1949 session with Fats Navarro and Sonny Rollins.
