The Liberal Arts Department Presents: Immolated Scene by Damian Norfleet

A Nibelung from Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen acknowledges his culpability for the destruction of the heavens and...

This multimedia performance piece for voice, performed by interdisciplinary performing artist Damian Norfleet with InterArts class participation, is inspired by the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, America’s gun violence epidemic, and Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen. Immolated Scene is rooted in improvisation and contemporary classical techniques and presents fantastical handling of real-life challenges: accountability, liability, and responsibility.

The runtime of the performance piece is approximately 20 minutes without an intermission. There will be a Q&A session and discussion after the show.

This event will be open to NEC students, faculty, and staff. Zoom information for the event will be shared separately via email.
