    This piece draws inspiration from Thelonious Monk’s Thelonious and is built around a single pitch (Bb), just like Monk’s classic

  2. Hunter McKay | Metallic Organisms

    Metallic Organisms is an exploration of the surprisingly hazy boundary between natural and artificial.

  3. Cindy Yin | A Children’s Song

    The piece builds around a folk tune that I heard when I was a kid. I want to share a little piece of innocence inside me. I want to dedicate this piece to my childhood best friends Lily and Tina. They are my inspiration. 

  4. Cindy Yin | Assertion

    This piece is based on a tune which I wrote originally for a small ensemble. I want to expand my big band repertoire and explore new sounds in my music. Ideas come to me after listening to Jim McNeely, Brian Dickson, Herbie Hancock and Maria Schneider.
