Welcome and Congratulations for Orchestral Conductors

NEC welcomes new orchestral conducting student Tristan Rais-Sherman, and congratulates conducting alumni Radu Paponiu, & Nathan Aspinall on recent appointments.

Tristan Rais-Sherman enters NEC's orchestral conducting program as an Artist Diploma student.

NEC's orchestral department is delighted to welcome Tristan Rais-Sherman as incoming Artist Diploma student in orchestral conducting. Tristan will work closely with Stanford and Norma Jean Calderwood Director of Orchestras Hugh Wolff, and will make his NEC conducting debut in Jordan Hall on April 1, 2020.

Meanwhile, conducting alumni have found success through recent promotions and appointments: Radu Paponiu ’17 MM has been promoted to Associate Conductor of the Naples Philharmonic, and Nathan Aspinall ’15 MM has been named Assistant Conductor of the Nashville Symphony. Radu and Nathan both studied with Hugh Wolff in the orchestral conducting program at NEC.
