Students of Meng-Chieh Liu Win Top Prizes in Piano Competition

Xu Guo '20 and Elaine Sin Yee Yap '20 won top prizes at The V Thailand International Piano Competition.

Xu Guo '20 and Elaine Sin Yee Yap '20 won top prizes at The V Thailand International Piano Competition. Xu and Elaine are both students of Meng-Chieh Liu, who joined NEC piano studio faculty in 2004. In the competition, Xu won 1st Prize, Audience Prize, and Best Romantic Music Prize. Elaine won 4th Prize. In the final around, Xu played Mozart's Piano Concerto No.20 in D minor, K.466 and Elaine played Schumann's Piano Concerto.
