NEC singers honored in Met Regional auditions

Bass-baritone Zizhao Wang ’20 MM won second prize, while soprano Amani Cole-Felder ’19 MM was awarded one of two Encouragement Awards.

The purpose of the National Council Auditions Program, sponsored by the Metropolitan Opera, is to find exceptionally talented opera singers and to assist them in their development, to discover new talent for the Metropolitan Opera, and to search for possible participants in the Young Artist Development Program of the Met.

The New England Regional Finals were held in NEC's Jordan Hall on Sunday, January 27.

Zizhao Wang ’20 MM, bass-baritone won second prize, while soprano Amani Cole-Felder ’19 MM was awarded one of two Encouragement Awards.

NEC faculty Damien Francoeur-Kryzek accompanied the competition.
