Ari Sussman '16, '18 MM Selected to Compose for the NYYS

The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) has announced Ari Sussman ’16, '18 MM to be one of the composers selected to write an orchestral piece to be premiered by the NYYS on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The NYYS First Music commission program recognizes new voices by selecting all composers under the age of 30. Sussman is one of the seven chosen to premiere new works during the 2020/2021 season.

The NYYS First Music competition is a truly unique opportunity for young composers work with the exceptional student ensembles of the New York Youth Symphony, as well as to have their work premiered at Carnegie Hall by this excellent group of young musicians.
