Donnell LaRoque Patterson was chair of the Gospel Music department in NEC's School of Preparatory and Continuing Education during the first decade of the 21st century. Patterson is Director of Music at Belmont Hill School, and Minister of Music at St. Paul Church in Cambridge. From 2002-2006, Paterson was Program Director of the Roland Hayes School of Music in the Boston Public Schools. Previously, Patterson was an elementary and high school music educator in the Cambridge Public Schools, beginning in 1982. He has also served as Acting Assistant Director of Music in the Cambridge Public Schools.
Performing and conducting music has allowed Patterson to travel extensively, both nationally and internationally, to places like Armenia, France, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Toronto, Greece, and Japan. He is the proud father of twins, MelDonique and MelDonar.
