  5. Dear all who came to my recital,

I express my sincere thanks and love to all of you who came, in person or online.

This past four years at New England Conservatory have shaped my life greatly.

I have lived through the most beautiful musics, sorrow, great joy, confusion, understanding, inspiration, discovery, transformation in both my musicianship and me myself, and so much more that mere words suffice not.

I have gained greatly not only in music and knowledge, but also about truths of life, love, darkness, light, humanity…all of this encompassed in music that I play and music that I create. It has been a great time, and will always be.

I would like to first thank Jesus Christ my God,
who has saved me out of my darkest time in life and has given me life and the greatest love, who has guided me to light with Holy Spirit.

I would like to thank my mother and my father and my entire family, who have provided everything and have done everything they could for me to pursue my music dream, who have loved me selflessly since my first day on earth.

I would like to thank all my dear piano professors whom I have studied with here at NEC: Mr. Chodos, Mr. Rosenbaum, and especially Mrs. Paik, whose supreme musicianship and artistry inspired me and transformed me and the way I play, the way I think, in a very short time.

I would like to thank all my dear friends, colleagues, all my professors, and everyone at NEC - all of you made my past four years here some of the greatest times of my life.

Once again, I thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart, and may the Music I shall now play bring something great and beautiful upon all your beautiful souls,

    Yours truly,
    Jiawen Eric Guan
