Music for Food | Parlando: Enoch Arden

NEC: Brown Hall | Directions

290 Huntington Ave.
Boston, MA
United States

Music for Food is a musician-led initiative to fight hunger in our local communities.  According to Feeding America, 1 in 9 people in the United States struggles with food insecurity. Music for Food’s concerts have raised funds to create close to 2 million meals.

Our mission: We believe both music and food are essential to human life and growth.  Music has the power to call forth the best in us, inspiring awareness and action when artists and audiences work together to transform ineffable musical experiences into tangible and needed food resources.

Our 14th season in Boston —Parlando — weaves together three threads that all have to do with the stories we tell…in music. Each concert:

  • has been curated by one of MFF’s beloved friends

  • features a world premiere for viola, composed and performed by NEC students

  • centers a work that integrates spoken word

Tonight's program was curated by Marc-André Hamelin.

Suggested donation is $40+, and $15+ for students, collected at the door. 100% of donations for this concert will benefit Women’s Lunch Place, a day shelter serving women experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty in the greater Boston area.
