About Klemens Sander
Winner of the Richard Tauber Prize, the International Schumann Competition Zwickau and the International Vocal Competition S’Hertogenbosch, Klemens Sander has been distinguished several times for his devotion to the classical lied. Invitations as a concert soloist and lied performer brought him, amongst others, to the Wiener Musikverein and the Konzerthaus, the Salzburg Festival, the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Oxford Lied Festival, Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Berlin Philharmonie, Laeisz Halle Hamburg, London Wigmore Hall, the Philharmonie de Paris, or the Suntory Hall Tokyo.
His opera career led the versatile artist to Volksoper Wien, Theater an der Wien, the New National Theatre Tokyo, Opéra de Dijon, Oper Leipzig, Neue Oper Wien, Oper Chemnitz, and to the opera houses in Limoges and Caen, as well as to Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he appeared in different major roles (including Onegin, Papageno, Don Giovanni, Belcore, Silvio, Marcello, Graf Almaviva, Harlekin, Falke, Donner, Faninal, Besenbinder, Escamillo).
