  2. 8:15 PM | Brian Levy Ensemble

In the Brian Levy ensemble, students had the opportunity to play in a straight-ahead style through a repertoire of their own and Levy’s original compositions and arrangements. They also played compositions by Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Freddie Hubbard, Horace Silver, Cedar Walton, McCoy Tyner, and Wes Montgomery. In the process, they explored various rhythmic, melodic, and comping routines both to develop solos and to hone their ability to take on different roles in the ensemble.
