Home Recording 101

Making high quality recordings at home has never been more important. Luckily, thanks to digital technology it also has never been easier. This workshop is for students who want to record but don’t know where to start. This online course will cover basics of digital recording and audio using general principles that apply to all devices and software applications, including:

  • Digital Audio 
  • Microphones and Interfaces
  • Setting Levels
  • DAW Essentials
  • Elements of Mixing

Instructor Bio

Ted Reichman

Ted Reichman is an accordionist, keyboard player, and composer, focusing on connections between improvisation and various forms of folk, popular music, and jazz. He works as a film composer and record producer, in addition to performing worldwide in John Hollenbeck's Claudia Quintet, and other jazz and rock bands. At NEC, Ted teaches Creative Recording Concepts for Musicians.
