NEC's performance halls share a small inventory of single- and double-manual harpsichords, as well as an extensive inventory of percussion instruments. Harps, electronic keyboards, amplifiers, and other instruments and equipment are moved from room to room as needed. NEC also owns five organs, including a portative organ that was donated by longtime NEC faculty member Daniel Pinkham.

The Instrument Library’s collection of string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments is available for students, faculty, and staff to sign out as needed. The Instrument Library’s inventory of electronic percussion controllers represents a commitment to an area of growing interest (alternative controllers). Also, synthesizers are available for small and large ensemble needs.
