The NEC Fund

Every gift to The NEC Fund has a direct and immediate impact on the future of music.

Your support of The NEC Fund has a far-reaching impact on student scholarships, NEC's world-class faculty, our experiential and integrated academic curriculum, and exceptional student resources that create a collaborative learning environment rooted in the highest level of musical excellence. Your contribution enables the most talented musicians from around the world to pursue a transformative education that will guide them throughout their limitless careers and musical journeys.

Unrestricted Support

Unrestricted support allows NEC to boldly and purposefully move forward with our mission to educate and train musicians of all ages from around the world. With a student body representing more than 40 countries, NEC cultivates a diverse, dynamic community, providing students with an innovative curriculum, performance opportunities, and high caliber training by over 200 internationally-esteemed artists-teachers and scholars.

Scholarship Support

Each year, thousands of young musicians apply for admission to NEC from all over the world, and over 90% request financial assistance. Your support of student scholarships is a crucial factor in a student’s ability to attend NEC.

NEC's World-Class Faculty

NEC is fortunate to employ over 200 internationally renowned musicians (including multiple winners of the Rome Prize, Pulitzer Prize, Grammy Awards, Avery Fisher Prize, and Concert Artist Guild) who foster a supportive space for a student’s personal and artistic growth. Your gift will ensure that NEC is able to continue to retain and recruit artists from around the world who inspire students to forge connections, embrace risk-taking and innovation, and set new standards of excellence.

Integrative Curriculum

NEC’s new Integrative Curriculum weaves together the many strands of a conservatory education, including music history, performance, composition and entrepreneurship, in fresh and dynamic ways. The result: NEC students graduate as holistic musicians with the tools and creative confidence to create the future of music and advance music’s impact on humanity – as artistic leaders, difference makers, and community builders.

Student Resources & Facilities

An NEC education takes students beyond the Jordan Hall stage by providing:

  • Opportunities to engage with communities across the Boston area through robust, meaningful performance and teaching fellowship programs
  • Individual advising and career coaching, pathways to gain professional experience through hands-on learning, and competitive grants to incubate new creative work
  • Masterclasses and residencies featuring world-renowned musical guests from across the globe to share their expertise and experience with our students and the wider NEC community throughout the academic year
  • Access to the more than 400,000 books, scores and audio recordings available at the Blumenthal Family Library

NEC students and faculty rely on your support each year. Thank you for considering a gift to The NEC Fund today!
