Summer Session contains programs that don't exist during the year. Think of summer session as our summer semester. While some things are similar to what is offered during the academic year (lessons, ensembles, Jazz theory, ear training, Kodàly, etc.) there are other events geared towards adult students that are exclusive to summer only (piano institute, Estill voice training, opera studio, etc.) We are also looking into offering more classes for undergraduate and graduate credit so that the NEC college students can have some summer study opportunities.
Whether you are a seasoned professional or an avid amateur, NEC's School of Continuing Education Summer Session offers classes, workshops, private studio instruction and professional development. The summer session curriculum includes College, Continuing Education, and Preparatory classes, ensembles and private studio instruction, as well as short-term intensive institutes. Summer Session intensive programs can last from 2 days to 3 weeks and carry a range of credit and non-credit options: G (graduate), UG (undergraduate), CE (Continuing Education), non-credit, auditor, day pass. Financial aid and tuition discounts are available.
