About the Program

What to Expect

Jazz Lab: Workshop for Adults is an immersive, week-long retreat that offers you an open, collaborative environment to grow your skills and broaden your perspective.

You will expand your musical horizons through small ensembles, innovative workshops, faculty master classes, and evening outings into Boston’s jazz scene. Your experience will be guided by expert faculty artists who teach at New England Conservatory, Berklee College of Music, The Juilliard School, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The week concludes with a final concert where you will perform alongside your peers and faculty mentors.

Who Should Attend

Whether you are a college student, a music educator, dedicated hobbyist, or professional musician (18+), you are welcome to join this community. No matter your current experience level, the program is designed to give you fresh creative tools and a new perspective on music. No audition is required.

How to Register

Eligibility

The Jazz Lab: Workshop for Adults is open to college-age and adult musicians interested in jazz. Whether you are an amateur musician, engaged in collegiate studies, at the start of your career, or wishing to hone your professional skills, we want to make music with you!

What’s Included

Participants in the program have the option to either stay on NEC’s Boston campus during the duration of the program or commute to campus each day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
