Collaborate, create, and explore

as you make Boston your own.

The Boston Advantage

You’ll find yourself at home in a city pulsing with musical vibrancy. It's a place that invites you to collaborate, create, and explore as you make Boston your own.

Boston's Musical Community

Boston is a destination for musicians: The BSO. Handel & Haydn Society. Ryles Jazz Club. Boston Lyric Opera. Boston Modern Orchestra Project. Regattabar. Celebrity Series. House of Blues. Nearly ad infinitum.

Plus, NEC students have a special connection to many of the city’s most esteemed and adventurous music makers—current and former NEC musicians appear all over town, and many beloved Boston musical organizations were born right here at NEC.

Boston as your campus

One block from Symphony Hall.

Ten minutes' walk to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Emerald Necklace greenway, and the Newbury Street shopping district.

Fifteen minutes by T takes you to the Charles River, Fenway Park, and the Boston Common.

They call Boston "America's Walking City," and NEC is in the heart of it all. There's no better place to be a student.

Boston is a hub for the arts and I wanted access to different sources of inspiration. It’s really eclectic.
