Marvel Television's First Emmy

A 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Award has gone to NEC alumnus Sean Callery '88 for "Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music" for Marvel's "Jessica Jones." This series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Marvel Comics reports the news of their first Emmy.

A lifetime acquaintance with the Marvel Universe may not be sufficient grounding for this television program.

Here's Marvel's description.

Sean Callery's work in television has been recognized with 16 Emmy nominations and four wins. Shows that are inextricably associated with his music include "24," "Bones," "Elementary," and "Homeland." In addition to his title theme music for "Jessica Jones," he is also deeply involved in the overall scoring, as he describes in this interview. Callery was also nominated this year for "Outstanding Music Composition for a Series, Original Dramatic Score" for his work on "Minority Report."
