Mieko van Haeren has been actively teaching at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School for the past three decades. Ms. Van Haeren was born in Japan. She studied with Shigeno Kotake, Yoshio Unno, Saburo Sumi, Paul Zukofsky, Rodolf Kolish, Eugene Lehner and Louis Krasner.

As an orchestral musician she has performed with the Boston Ballet, the Boston Opera and the Boston pops Esplanade orchestra.

Her son, violinist Andrew Kohji Taylor is an alumnus of NEC prep as a student of Dorothy DeLay and YPO.
