First Monday 30th Anniversary Season

First Monday arrived at Jordan Hall on October 7, 1985. 30 years later, we’re still celebrating the best of chamber music, with imaginative programming, splendid artists, and musical conversation under the direction (or should we say devotion) of Laurence Lesser, occupant of the Walter W. Naumburg Chair in Music.

We’ll pay tribute to our start by scattering performances of works done during that inaugural season throughout the current season of six concerts, featuring as much as possible the musicians who performed them back then. On this concert, the Bach is a reprise from the first season.

As always we strive for the perfect mix of familiar masterpieces and the new and unfamiliar. Still in stunning Jordan Hall and still free! Let’s see how long we can keep it up!
