Flute. A silvery metal instrument with a light and almost airy sound, commonly used in all styles of music.
Clarinet. An ebony-colored instrument with a dark sound and an extremely wide range; it is used in both classical music and jazz.Saxophone. A brass woodwind instrument most often associated with jazz but also used in classical music; it is often used as the melody instrument in jazz ensembles.Oboe. An instrument with a brighter and more reedy sound than a clarinet; it has elements of brightness and darkness of sound.Bassoon. A double reed instrument common to the symphony orchestra; it produces a very low and distinct sound similar to, but darker than, the oboe.
