The Music Technology Classroom (MTC) is the most technologically advanced space at NEC. Located across the hall from the Student Computer Lab, the MTC is supported by ITS staff and student employees and is comprised of 18 student stations and one instructor station.
Each station has an iMac computer, an 88-key piano controller, and a variety of music applications to support teaching and learning for a variety of courses—including Fundamentals of Music Theory, Tonal Practice, Composing for Film and Multimedia, as well as in advanced audio editing/sequencing and object-oriented programming in electronic music.
When a class is not in session, individual students may obtain access to the room to work on homework projects by going to the Student Computer Lab across the hall. A student must have his or her NEC ID to use the room, and access is only available when the Computer Lab is open.
