During one of his monthly teaching residencies at NEC, pianist/composer Jason Moran offers this public masterclass, in which he and the other members of his trio—bassist Tarus Mateen and drummer Nasheet Waits—will work with student ensembles. This visit concludes with the New England premiere of Moran's In My Mind project, featuring the trio.
Moran, named a MacArthur Fellow for 2010 and called "the most provocative thinker in current jazz" by Rolling Stone magazine, joined the NEC faculty last year.
