Angeli, Zingare e Pastori: Symbols & Allegories in Italian Renaissance Music

A week of extraordinary Festival concerts comes to a close with a return engagement of The Royal Wind Music. This outstanding recorder consort of 13 musicians have been praised the world over for a richly unified and transcendently beautiful sound. Their program explores the inventive music of Renaissance Italy with motets, madrigals, and ingenious instrumental compositions by masters like Palestrina and Gabrieli as well as neglected gems by Orologio and Corfini. The music is celebratory, gallant, and full of spectacular virtuosity.
