The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS) has announced Ari Sussman to be the first of seven composers selected to write an orchestral piece to be premiered by the NYYS on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at 2pm at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Her certificate recital will take place Saturday, December 21 at 6:30 p.m. in NEC’s Pierce Hall, and is free and open to the public.

On Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18, alumni, students, and faculty came together on the NEC campus to play music inspired by the NEC Jazz Studies department’s 50 year history and to celebrate the many prominent alumni and faculty members who have influenced jazz over the years.
