Summary: This collection contains materials relating to the doctoral dissertation of Larry Scripp, a member of the Music-in-Education faculty at NEC. The dissertation, entitled “The Development of Skill in Reading Music,” served as the basis for the establishment of the Research Center for Learning through Music at NEC under the direction of Larry Scripp, and the subsequent NEC publication entitled Journal for Learning through Music (2000–2003). A subsequent publication was titled Journal for Music-in-Education (2007).
