Welcome to the ResHall!
The NEC Residence Hall (aka ResHall) is located at 33 Gainsborough Street directly across from Jordan Hall. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page to learn more about living in the Residence Hall.
All incoming undergraduate students, including transfers, are required to live in the Residence Hall for their first year. Undergraduate students who are married, over age 21, or living at home with parent(s) at their permanent address in the Boston area may request an exemption from this requirement. Spring applicants will be granted housing based on availability and are not guaranteed housing for more than one semester.
Living in the Residence Hall at NEC gives you an opportunity to create your own unique living space. Below are just a few photos showcasing how NEC students have spruced up their on-campus spaces!
2016-2017 Room and Board Fees
Prices reflect payment for the full academic year and include a resident meal plan.

Incoming Student Housing Applications
All newly incoming 2016-2017 NEC students either interested in or required to live in the Residence Hall can find the incoming student housing application on the Admitted Students page here or can be directly connected to the application here.
Returning Student Housing Applications
All current NEC students interested in living in the Residence Hall for the 2016-2017 academic year should fill out this application.
- Applications are due to the Residence Hall Office before Tuesday, April 26 @ 9am. Late applications will be accepted and able to choose a space at the end of the Room Selection, pending availability.
- Emails will be sent out to all applicants with further information regarding the lottery process.
- Room selection will take place on Friday, April 29 @ 6pm. If you are unable to attend Room Selection day, you may select a proxy to choose a space for you. Further information regarding proxy assignments will be sent via email.
- All current students living in the Residence Hall have a Housing Deposit on file and do not need to re-submit; however, any students who currently do not live in the Residence Hall will need to submit their $525 Housing Deposit to the Business Office before Friday, April 29.
