Aldo Abreu, Baroque Ensembles director
NEC Preparatory School offers an array of baroque ensembles, consisting of up to 20 members each, which play music composed before 1750. Students play on modern instruments, but learn about baroque technique and aesthetic. The more advanced ensembles offer some members the opportunity to solo with the orchestra, and have masterclasses each year with performers who specialize in baroque performance.
