New England Conservatory received First Honorable Mention in the 2022 Cam Busch NOAH Arts in Health Awards’ “Arts Building Resilience” Category for the Boston Hope Music Teaching Project. The project is run by NEC’s Community Partnerships and Partnerships Program and Massachusetts General Hospital. The initiative, started in 2020, pairs hospitalists from MGH with NEC student-teaching fellows for music lessons and involvement.

“This program has been a beacon of hope for so many during the pandemic, and it is an honor to shine a light on the beautiful collaboration between MGH hospitalists and NEC students that has made this project so meaningful and filled with joy,” commented NEC’s Dean of Community Engagement and Professional Studies Tanya Maggi.
