Employment Opportunities for Enrolled Students

Looking for work? Check out our current openings below.

Jobs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis at the discretion of NEC supervisors. Students must be cleared for work authorization before paid work may begin. Authorized student employees are paid for their work by direct deposit on a bi-weekly schedule.

Employment Paperwork and Payroll

  • U.S. citizens or permanent residents: Complete the ADP Onboarding Wizard before working on campus
  • International students: Apply for a Social Security Card, complete the ADP Onboarding Wizard, and submit tax paperwork via the Sprintax Portal

After you complete your paperwork, you’ll be added to ADP, NEC’s electronic payroll database. Students should access ADP via NEC OneLogin once they have completed their onboarding paperwork and have received confirmation from Human Resources.

Our comprehensive student employment handbook can be viewed under the “My Quick Links” section of the ADP homepage.

Off-Campus Positions

Off-campus employment opportunities are available only to Federal Work-Study recipients and typically focus on public service initiatives such as tutoring and education. To help offset the cost and time commitment of an off-campus commute, NEC will compensate students for time spent commuting to and from their employment.

On-Campus Positions

The employment opportunities listed below are available to all active NEC college students. Jobs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis at the discretion of NEC supervisors.

Summer Orchestra Institute – NEC Resident Teaching Assistant

Performance Library – Library Assistant

Student Services – Orientation Leader

Enrollment Management – Admissions Ambassador

Preparatory School

Preparatory School – Program Associate

Performance Opportunities

Performance opportunities are paid, on-campus engagements filled on an as-needed basis by NEC supervisors. Please note that performance opportunities do not count towards students’ limit of two on-campus jobs.

Funding Sources

Federal Work-Study

Federal Work-Study (FWS) provides funding for part-time employment within and outside of NEC to eligible students. Eligibility for this need-based program is determined by the FAFSA, and both NEC and the federal government contribute to students’ income. FWS is paid on a bi-weekly schedule as students work; it is not credited towards students’ bills.

Student Aid

Student Aid provides funding for part-time employment opportunities within NEC. All active NEC college students are eligible to earn student aid regardless of their FWS eligibility.
