More about private lessons

Welcome to the CE String Department! We are a vibrant and supportive community of professional musicians and students of all levels and from all walks of life. Our intent is to help foster and develop musical skills in a nurturing environment that's also appropriately challenging and caring. Whether you're a beginner with lifelong dreams of playing the cello, a moderately proficient violinist interested in improving your technique, or an advanced violist wanting to eventually apply to a music conservatory, we have inspiring teachers dedicated to meeting your needs and helping you through your musical journey. Please check us out at our regular string workshops that we host every semester. We look forward to getting to know you and to start or continue your musical journey with you this year!

Our Strings Performance Workshops are now online on Fridays from 7-8:30pm!

Our online Zoom Performance Workshops are easy to join from wherever you are!  Please come celebrate the work of our adult string students as they perform classical masterworks from the last 4 centuries and get to know our knowledgeable and nurturing string faculty. Possible workshop teachers are Amy Galluzzo, Julia Cash, Jean Huang, Mona Rashad, Nathaniel Farny, Sam Ou, and Carol Ou and others.
