At New England Conservatory Prep, our youngest musicians feel just as engaged and important as our most advanced students. Whether a child is exploring music for the very first time or has developed an early interest, we make sure that they receive a great musical foundation and have a wonderful time doing it. Our world-class Early Childhood faculty members are specialists in teaching beginners, and know how to get kids excited about learning!
I Want to Play
At NEC Prep, young musicians can explore all kinds of instruments. We offer brass, percussion, woodwinds, strings, and piano from early childhood on. Whether it's classical, jazz, rock, or world music, you'll get to explore music that moves you.
There are as many approaches to meaningful musical education at NEC Prep as there are students. No two paths are exactly alike, and your student can enter at any level of training. Older beginners generally start with lessons on an instrument and/or any of our foundation classes. Because our offerings are à la carte, you can map out a unique learning experience. Students can choose to enroll in just one activity—ensembles, lessons, classes—or any combination thereof, and move at their own pace.
