Title IX and NEC’s Prohibition on Sexual Misconduct

New England Conservatory is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy educational and work environment in which no member of the NEC community is, on the basis of sex, including sexual orientation, sex stereotypes, gender identity or expression, pregnancy or related conditions, or marital or parental status excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination in any NEC program or activity. NEC does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any Conservatory program or activity, including, without limitation, in admission and employment. Sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, and sexual violence (collectively “sexual misconduct”) are forms of sex discrimination that could deny an individual equal access to NEC’s programs or activities.

Reports or complaints of sexual misconduct involving any member of the NEC community, regardless of where it occurred, should be reported to the Title IX Coordinator:

Katrina Chapman, Title IX Coordinator

Phone: (617) 585-1299

The Explore Policies links on this page provide information concerning NEC’s policies against sexual misconduct, resources available to members of the community impacted by sexual misconduct, how to report a concern, and the processes NEC follows to review allegations of sexual misconduct.

Additional information concerning anonymous reporting options and confidential resources is available in Section V of both the Title IX Sexual Misconduct Policy and the Gender-Based Misconduct Policy.
