Two NEC Prep Violinists Help Close the Boston Civic Symphony's Season

The Boston Civic Symphony's season concluded Sunday, May 5, with a program featuring the two young violinists—both students at NEC's Preparatory School—who won the 2019 James R. Powers concerto competition.

Fei Yang-Sady, age 11, played the first movement of the Beethoven Violin Concerto and is a student of Jin-Kyung Joen. She is the youngest musician ever accepted into NEC's Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

Keila Wakao, age 13, played the final movement on the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto and studies with Donald Weilerstein, Soovin Kim, Anait Arutunian and Keisuke Wakao. She was the winner of the NEC Prep Concerto Competition in 2016.
