Prep Alumnus Zlatomir Fung Wins First Prize at Tchaikovsky

Zlatomir Fung, age 20, has won first prize in the cello division of the XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition.

Fung is an alumnus of the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, where he studied with Nancy Hair and Emmanuel Feldman. His activities at NEC Prep included Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, the String Chamber Orchestra, chamber music, composition, and Suzuki.

Fourth prize was awarded to Taeguk Mun ’16, who studied with Laurence Lesser while earning his Bachelor of Music at NEC.
